Mirror Reader Content & Copyright Notice

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

This notice explains the difference between Mirror Reader catalog content and texts provided by users. It supplements the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Mirror Reader catalog

Mirror Reader offers classic books and source texts that we believe are public domain or otherwise lawfully usable, together with generated or curated translations, covers, metadata, formatting, and learning materials.

Public-domain status can differ by jurisdiction, edition, translation, introduction, annotation, illustration, recording, and source. We do not intentionally include a protected modern edition, translation, or artwork without permission or another legal basis. Source information is provided for transparency and does not imply endorsement.

Generated translations, covers, alignments, metadata, curation, interface design, and formatting can be protected separately from the underlying public-domain text. Users may not scrape, redistribute, sell, repackage, or use Mirror Reader content to build a competing service except where the Terms or law permits.

User-provided texts

Creator users can import their own texts. A user-provided text can be a book, document, article, note, study material, or other supported text; it is not limited to a conventional book.

The user is responsible for confirming that they own the material or have the rights, permission, or legal basis needed to upload, extract, translate, align, store, synchronize, and display it. Users must not submit protected books, translations, course materials, private communications, confidential documents, or other third-party content without authorization.

The user retains rights they have in the submitted text. The limited processing license granted to Mirror Reader is described in the Terms of Use. User-provided texts are not added to the public catalog merely because they are uploaded to a personal Creator account.

AI processing

User-requested preparation or translation can send text fragments through an AI routing intermediary to a model provider. Provider privacy, retention, and training rules vary. Rights ownership does not remove the user's responsibility to determine whether third-party AI processing is lawful and appropriate for the material.

AI-generated translation does not automatically avoid copyright or other rights. A generated output can reproduce, transform, or resemble protected material and can contain errors. Users are responsible for their use and distribution of outputs.
